Upcountry Farms is a small-scale, diversified vegetable and flower farm located on 1.5 acres in the foothills of Amador County, CA. We grow over 50 varieties of vegetables and cut-flowers, which can be found at several local farmer's markets, our online farm stand, and through our weekly Community Supported Agriculture box program (CSA). We are committed to utilizing sustainable and natural farming methods that work to improve the soil health and surrounding environment of the farm without the use of pesticides or chemicals, and ultimately provide our community with healthy food and beautiful flowers. |
Dan and Tori met in Chico, where they received their bachelor's degrees, fell in love, and caught the farming bug. After a few years of inspiration from the agricultural community in Chico, they decided to move back to Tori's home of Amador County and start a farm of their own. In 2017 they got hitched and started farming! They have a passion for connecting with nature and growing their vegetables and flowers using sustainable and regenerative methods. They are self-taught farmers, and have learned everything through books, a few classes, experience, and a lot of trial and error. They enjoy every aspect of farming... from starting seeds, preparing the soil, and transplanting... to cultivating weeds, crop planning, and harvesting with the changing seasons. They farm alongside a hardworking crew of energetic folks that keep the farm fun and productive! |
