We are hiring! We are currently looking for a few people to to join our crew for the 2019 farming season. Part-time positions available. We are seeking energetic employees who are interested in growing healthy, organically grown food and flowers in a fast-paced, team environment. Previous farming/gardening experience preferred but not required. Employee Duties and Responsibilities: Farm crew members will work alongside farm owners and other employees on a variety of tasks including but not limited to...
Fieldwork: soil preparation, planting, weeding, harvesting, etc.
Cleaning and organizing farm equipment and materials
Occasional produce delivery and farmers market assistance
Employees are required to wear appropriate farming gear: long pants, boots, protective layers, rain gear if needed, & hat *Farm owners will provide water, sunscreen, gloves, and misc. farm tools*
Schedule: Employment starts in April and goes through November. Employees will be asked to work 15-20 hours per week, depending on the season. Typically three days per week. During the busy season, ample farm tasks and weather will often require work days to start at 6AM. All farm employees will receive a 30 minute lunch break. Payment: Employees are paid hourly, starting at $12/hour. Things to consider when applying... Farming is a rewarding job, but is also very labor intensive. We often work in extreme weather, including freezing temperatures in the Spring and very hot temperatures in the Summer. It is imperative to the efficiency of the farm and the rest of the crew that employees come to work prepared for any condition. We works as a team to grow a large variety of healthy, beautiful produce for our community...and dedication, a willingness to learn, an open mind, and a good attitude from all crew members is essential.
